Advanced Info Service (AIS) is implementing an expansion strategy featuring a half-price call promotion aimed at increasing new subscribers by 20% per month so the company can hit its target of 3-4% revenue growth this year. The country’s largest mobile-phone operator expects new subscribers across the industry to drop to 5m in 2009 from 9m last year. But AIS expects to maintain its 50%market share this year in both subscriber numbers and revenue. (Bangkok Post)
